How does CIE service compare with traditional MLS service?

• A CIE closely resembles an MLS but is specifically designed for use only by commercial real estate brokers.
• Similar to an MLS, a CIE is an online property service where commercial brokers voluntarily post listing information about commercial properties for sale or lease.
• Unlike an MLS, the CIE does not require an entire firm to participate and does not require REALTOR® membership to participate.
• Properties processed in the CIE do not include a unilateral offer of compensation as with the MLS format. Cooperating real estate firms must arrange the terms of their cooperation independently of the CIE.
